No greater sorrow: the Pearls’ legacy

Today I’m veering off my usual track of book-related subjects and mindless miscellany because I want to tackle a disturbing topic.

First, let me say that I’m a fairly conservative Christian and a veteran home-school mom who “graduated” from homeschooling only last year.  That doesn’t mean I’ve been isolated.  I have friends of assorted persuasions, whether we’re talking about theology, politics, education, child-training, or cultural tastes.

I’m able to live and let live because I know I don’t have all the answers, but I can’t keep my mouth shut about little Lydia Schatz.

Karen Campbell, who encourages mothers through her “thatmom” blog,  has said it very well, here.  I hope you’ll read it and share it.

The Pearls don’t speak for the typical homeschool family.  Thank God.
