I’m so, so thankful for my fantastic editor and the whole awesome team at WaterBrook. I couldn’t ask for a better bunch of people to work with. My novel is in good hands.
But my brain is tired. So are my eyes. They’ve been reading and re-reading, editing and re-editing, the same 98,000 words, over and over and over (and over) for weeks. But I’m done. With that part.
Next week, I’ll enter the next stage in the process of getting a novel from Point A (my mind and heart) to Point Z (readers’ minds and hearts.) This weekend, I’m taking a break.
Now, for your weekend encouragement and entertainment and to give me an excuse for not posting much of anything new, here are some happy-making links.
First, from musician Eric M. Pazdziora, a few words about how God chooses us. I’ll never again watch a game of “Duck Duck Goose” without thinking of Eric’s story.
Paul Wilkinson’s “Thinking Out Loud” has encouraging words for those of us whose vacations are not lengthy, expensive, or glamorous. I think that’s most of us.
Then there’s Joshilyn Jackson’s Faster Than Kudzu. Joshilyn is a novelist who blogs hilariously about family, writing, cute shoes, a beagle named Bagel, a one-eyed cat, and other hairy beasticles. I dare you to read just the categories on the left side of her blog and not get hooked. When I get too busy to read Joshilyn’s blog, I’m too busy.
Last but not least, Go Pop Go has been making me laugh out loud for months now. He’s anonymous, so he can be utterly honest. That means he’s sometimes slightly, er, rude. Don’t be a prude, now. Just enjoy his sense of humor. Great recipes, too.
Have a great weekend!
