A sneak peek at Sparrows

Not so very long ago, I was still arguing with myself about how to write this crazy novel about extremist homeschoolers and the literature prof who shakes up their lives.  The time for arguing with myself is over.  The story is out of my hands and in the hands of advance readers like Cindy Kunsman.  At her blog, Under Much Grace, she has posted her thoughts on some of the issues behind the story.

When Sparrows Fall is already available for pre-orders online, and it will be in stores on May 3.  The local launch is set for Saturday, May 7, at Books for Less in Buford, Georgia. You’re all invited.  The more, the merrier.

If the release date is the day my “baby” will be born, then the sneak peek from Multnomah is the ultrasound, a glimpse of this wild-child of my imagination. (All right, wise guys, don’t ask me if it’s a boy or a girl.  I’ve already stretched this goofy metaphor about as far as it will go!)

You can read a plot summary and more at my website, if you’re so inclined.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, take a gander at this cover art.  I think my “baby” looks pretty spiffy.
